Who we are

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis International began in 1915 and today involves more than 550,000 active members of all ages from more than 80 countries. Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy, and offering guidance.

The Kiwanis Club of Whitewater--Breakfast was chartered April 25, 1978. Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club is made up of dedicated volunteers who help children in the Whitewater community and the world, all with funds raised going directly to projects helping improve the lives of children in the community and the world.  Each year, the club distributes approximately $20,000, with over half going to the Whitewater Unified School District. In addition, the group donates to the Whitewater Youth Soccer Club, the Friends of the Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center Family Partnership Fund, the Whitewater Food Pantry, Bethel House, Camp Wawbeek, and more. For more than 23 years, the Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club has partnered with the Whitewater Greenhouse to offer beautiful poinsettia plants during the Thanksgiving and Holiday seasons. Over the years, sales from the poinsettia plants have raised $150,000 for programs in the community.

Our Mission Statement

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Collectively, Kiwanis clubs host nearly 150,000 service projects each year, and are committed to bettering the lives of their club's local kids. The international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting diseases and hunger.

Kiwanis is an organization with big hearts and creative minds. Whether rolling up our sleeves or opening our wallets, Kiwanians make transformative changes in communities around the world. With nearly 19 million services hours performed every year, the International organization raises more than US $100 million every year to support community causes - in addition to supporting the Kiwanis Children's Fund.
